The City of Gautier has broken ground on Lark Park, a $1.5 million recreational project that will bring new courts, a playground, splash pad, and gathering spaces to the community.
The City of Gautier has officially broken ground on Lark Park, a new $1.5 million recreational project designed to provide additional opportunities for residents to gather, play, and enjoy their community.
Funded through state legislative appropriations, the park will include basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground, and a splash pad. The project responds to a growing need for recreational amenities that serve residents of different ages and provide another place for community connection.
The project is another step in Gautier's continued investment in public spaces and quality-of-life improvements, and Lark Park is currently expected to open in January 2027.
Seymour Engineering has served as the city's engineer on the project from the beginning, providing topographic survey, geotechnical investigation, and full engineering design of the site layout, courts, splash pad, restroom building, parking, drainage, and utilities. The Seymour team developed and refined the park layout alongside city staff, then prepared the construction plans and specifications and managed the bidding and award process. Seymour is now providing construction administration and full-time resident project representation through completion.
